If you are looking for fun but affordable kids activities during the summer, the city of Graz offers two great programs – weekly sport courses for only €10! and Freizeithits program (offered by partner organisations – see program for prices).


Places are limited and go fast. To be eligible you must have your main residence in Graz. Registration starts Monday, May 31 at 5:30 am on-line for the Friezeithits program and 7.30 am online for the sports program. Be sure to sign up for an account at partner.venuzle.at/sportamt-graz before registration opens so that it will be confirmed and active by the start of registration. For the sports program it is also possible to register in person at the Sportsamt on the first day of registration from 7:30. From the second day of registration 8:00 – 14:00 Monday – Thursday and 8:00 – 12:00 Fridays in person and anytime on-line.
The city of Graz also supports other programs such as a full day sports program with child care for kids 6 – 14 yrs with ATG and VGT for €150 a week, registration is already open with partner.venuzle.at/sportamt (sign up for an account before you can register).
The Fratz-Graz abenteuerspielplatz offers free in drop fun for kids from 6 yrs on weekday afternoons. You are also welcome to stay with your children while they play in their urban garden playground (this may be depend on current corona restrictions). Activities are offered most afternoons. (Registration is currently required due to the limit on the number of kids, but this may be eased from July 1st).
For younger kids, the Spielmobile travels to parks all over Graz offering free fun activities between 3 pm and 6 pm. Check out the calendar to see when they will be visiting a park near you!
If you have kids between 6 and 10 yrs who need to improve their German, the city of Graz together with Deutsch&Mehr are offering free summer german courses between 12 July and 27 August (bookable on a weekly basis).
You can use your ZWEI UND MEHR-Steirischer Familienpass for free entry for your kids for the Joanneum museums, for example the new CoSA science or Nature History museum (adults are required to purchase a ticket).
