Seddwell Center & Base Verein

Seddwell Center is one of my favourite places in Graz and my home from home. It’s an international arts & community center with a big heart. You will always receive a warm welcome here, especially if you are new to Graz. Come and hang out in the Koha Cafe (donation based) or browse in their shop just around the corner Bohemian Soul with great affordable second hand clothes & accessories, plus wine, gin and artisan products. Base Verein have a full event schedule with yoga, energy healing, live concerts, art / writing / cooking workshops, gin tasting evenings, art exhibitions, artisan markets, salsa dancing and lots more (usually in English or bilingual). Plus it’s a great place to learn German or English with small personalised classes and they even make learning fun! Parents will enjoy the clothing & toy exchange, family events and international playgroup.

There is also a new space in the works – Creative Hacker sBase with a community garden, co-working space, artisan craft area and tools & space for messy art making and upcycling projects.

Join as a base Verein member to get special discounts and you will become part of a great supportive tribe of international people from all over the world. It’s a special place where people come together to create the world they want to live in. Proceeds from the verein go to supporting great community projects. Drop by and say hi!

The Seddwell Center can be found at Dreihackengasse 32, 8020 Graz (it’s a ‘hidden treasure’ so look out for the silver signplate by the building entrance door – walk in and turn left down the corridor and you’ll see Seddwell at the end by the giant dove painting).

Normal hours Friday 10:00 – 16:00 and Saturday 10:00 – 14:00 (open other hours for events and also by appointment).

You can follow Seddwell, base Verein and Bohemian Soul shop on facebook to see all their upcoming events and classes. You can also see past newsletters here and sign up for future ones to see what’s happing this month.
