My kids birthday cake requests are getting more elaborate with each year. (This year’s themes were Football and Nifflers from Fantastical Beasts!). This has led me to search around Graz for cake decorating supplies. You will find some of the basics at the regular supermarkets (Interspar, Eurospar and Merkur have the best supplies) but they don’t really have too much to choose from. Here are a couple of tips where I have had more success.
Dekor für deine Torte (Färbergasse 1 / city center) is a lovely small shop with the prettiest sugar & marizpan decorations (animals, flowers, figures etc), good quality marzipan and fondant in lots of colours, gold /silver balls, a big selection of sprinkles, sugar paper cake toppers in Frozen, Star Wars and other kid friendly themes, cookie cutters, a good supply of tools and lots more. Special themed decorations too depending on the season (Halloween, Christmas etc). The owner can give advice to help you achieve the perfect cake, plus she can custom make marzipan figures. Pagro also a decent baking section with molds, decorations (pirates, football, unicorns), fondant in several colours (including gold), sugar eyes, sparkle spray, coloured gel for writing, spray colours and other useful items.
