Now the warmer weather has finally arrived it’s the perfect time to chill in the park with little ones. There are lots of playgrounds to keep them busy. Also keep an eye out for the Grazer Spielmobile which travels to different playgrounds around Graz everyday between May – September. From 15:00 they bring with them lots of toys, activities, games and performances. You can see their schedule here.
The Afritschgarten adventure playground in Lend offers supervised play on Tuesday 15.00 – 18.00 and Wednesday – Friday 14.00 – 18.00 for free! It’s not your typical playground, but more of an urban garden with ‘junk’ but kids are encouraged to build, climb and play. They often offer special themes such as wood working, cooking, ball games etc.
And if you are looking for supervised weekly activities to keep the kids busy you can find tons of programs (sports, arts, horse riding, theater, circus school and much more!) at the City of Graz’s Ferien & Freizeit page.
The Graz library’s Labuka also offers workshops and story times (including a craft). Free with a library membership but do sign up soon as they fill up fast.
For family fun the Wiki adventure park at Hilmteich is a great place to experience climbing among the trees on obstacle courses. For the easy courses kids need to be min. 110 cm and for the more advanced 140 cm. For indoor fun the City Adventure Park in Gries has huge indoor climbing walls.
