Disc Golf Rosenhain

Disc Golf is a fun family friendly sports activity that you can do all year long. There is a new Disc Golf circuit financed by the City of Graz’s citizens’ budget on Rosenhain. Disc golf is similar to traditional golf, but with frisbee style discs and metal nets instead of balls, clubs and holes.

One throw (stroke) is counted each time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred. The goal is to play each hole in the fewest strokes possible. The player with the lowest total strokes for the entire course wins. There are are 12 stations around Rosenhain, each with a ‘launch’ point from which you count how many throws until you land your disc in the net. It’s totally free to use.

You can borrow discs from the Rosenhain Cafe for €1 and a deposit of €10. You can also buy sets of discs for about €20 – 30 at sports stores (each set includes  a putter, mid-range, and high-speed driver discs which when thrown travel in different ways). These discs travel faster and further than regular frisbees! Children should start with a lightweight, mid-range disc.

Should you become hooked on Disc Golf you can also try the circuits on top of the Schöckl and Judendorf-Straßengel.
