Tiendita de Alex is THE place to go if you are looking for authentic Mexican products. Run by a group of Mexican friends who were missing food from their homecountry, you’ll be sure to find whatever you need. For example when I visited in January they had tamales for El Día de los Reyes Mago (three king’s day).

Inside the fridge you’ll find stacks of corn tortillas, plus lots of other treats including snacks, candies and beer.

They are also happy to help Americans missing their favourite Tex-Mex ingredients and are looking into finding good flour tortillas. Unsure what you need or how to use an ingredient – just ask and get cooking and recipe advice. They also have a selection of kitchen and handmade crafts.

Located at Sackstraße 28-30 (not far from Karsten & Öhler) – look out for the Mexican flag in the window.
